Which green does chroma key software expect?
Any saturated green works. Broadcast chroma green (#00B140) is the industry standard because it is far from skin tones; pure #00FF00 keys well too. Both are available here as presets.
Why green and not another color?
Digital camera sensors have twice as many green photosites, so green channels are the cleanest to key. Blue is the traditional alternative — our blue screen page covers it.
Can a TV really replace a fabric green screen?
For head-and-shoulders framing, yes. A screen is evenly lit by definition — no wrinkles or shadows. For full-body shots you still need a large physical backdrop.
